THE CARING PLACE WINS “OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION” AWARD

LAS VEGAS – The Caring Place, an organization for those touched by cancer, received the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Nevada Chapter’s “outstanding organization” award for 2010.
The award, originally designed to honor Nevadans who went above and beyond to respond to the 9/11 tragedy, now annually recognizes exceptional organizations and individuals who help their communities.
CAI chose the Caring Place because the organization provides services and programs that benefit the community as a whole. The Caring Place provides free services to anyone affected by cancer, including patients, caregivers, relatives and friends.
CAI presented the award during its Heroes Luncheon September 14th. The Nevada chapter of CAI, which provides support to volunteer homeowners and professional staff who work with homeowners associations, has more than 850 members. Its first Heroes Luncheon was held in 2002.
The Caring Place, located at 4425 S. Jones Blvd, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides free services for the mind, body and spirit of those touched by Cancer. It was founded by Dr. Mary Ann Allison and Connie Bernstein. The services include a variety of healing arts such as meditation, yoga, reiki, and therapeutic massage.
